Alan L. Pennington, 66, of Eaton, OH peacefully passed away at Hospice of Dayton on Friday, July 20, 2018 after a long battle with cancer with his family by his side. He was born June 11, 1952 to the late Mack and Helen (Spidel) Pennington. He’s a graduate of Northmont high school. Alan was a retired industrial union plumber/pipefitter out of Dayton, OH. Also, briefly worked at Eaton Middle School. Alan was a member of the Eaton First Church of God. He had a passion for youth sports, coaching pee-wee football, girl’s youth softball (The Bears) for over 10 years and several youth and high school girls’ soccer teams. He enjoyed camping, the Dayton Dragons, watching high school sports, cruising, going to auctions and antique guns. He played in many men’s softball leagues with his greatest achievement being placed on the Ohio State Tournament Team. Very dedicated to his family and especially his grand-daughter, who was the light of his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Rhonda (Notoras) Pennington. Two daughters Nichole “Niki” Richardson of Eaton and Allison (Bill) Thompson of Lewisburg, grand-daughter Kaylee Thompson, two sisters Debbie Carrol of Dayton, Marianne (Dennis) Sigman of Ansonia, along with many other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 24th, 2018 at Eaton First Church of God, 601 E. Lexington Rd., Eaton, OH 45320 with Pastor Jonathan Grubbs officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be on Monday, July 23th, 2018 from 4:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Eaton First Church of God.
