Anna Alfreda (Turicchi) Hierholzer passed away September 16, 2013, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Eaton, Ohio, just two weeks after her 92nd birthday. She was a long time resident of Celina, Ohio, and for the past five years she was a resident at Vancrest in Eaton, Ohio. She was born in Muncie, IN on September 3, 1921 to Alfredo and Maria Turicchi in the home of her great Aunt and Uncle, Eletta and Antonio Pieroni. Shortly after Annas birth, she and her family moved back to Barga, Italy, where they remained until the summer of 1939. After moving back to America, her father owned and operated the original Sweet Shop on Main Street in Celina, Ohio. While working at the Sweet Shop, Anna met and married her husband, Charles Hierholzer, who pre-deceased her in 1981. Anna spent 17 years as a sales clerk At Bairs Pharmacy in Celina and also worked at the Style Shop and Abrams clothing store for several more years. She was very well known in Celina, with her retail career spanning over 20 years. Later in life, she worked privately for several local families, taking care of their elderly parents. In her spare time, she enjoyed visiting shut-ins at the local nursing home. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella. Anna is survived by her three children, John (Jay) Hierholzer and wife Virginia, of Columbia, MD, son Lee and wife Debbie Hierholzer, of Murphy, TX, and daughter, Kristine and husband Wilfrid Dues, of Eaton, Ohio. Also surviving are Annas three grandchildren and six great grandchildren, Gavin and Julie Dues of Troy, Ohio, children: Adler and Cooper; Annina Dues Parini and husband Greg of Worthington, Ohio; children: Dominic, Luca and Vincent; and Jonathon and Lindsey Dues of Chicago, IL, and their son, Jonathon Robert. Anna was preceded in death by her brother, Antonio Turicchi, but is survived by her sister, Maria Gloria (Lauretta) Altherr of Celina, Ohio, and many beloved nieces and nephews, and cousins in Italy. Family and friends will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Lehman Hogenkamp Dzendel Funeral Home, 901 Myers Road, Celina, OH. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 229 W. Anthony Street, Celina, OH 45822. Interment will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Celina, OH. Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton, OH is assisting the family with local arrangements.
