Arthur L. Gantner, age 83, of Brookville, OH passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at his residence. He was born December 4, 1941 in Dayton, OH to the late John Russell and Arthusia Mae (Strange) Gantner. Art graduated from Stivers High School; was a U.S. Army Veteran where he served as a M.P. at the Dougway Proving Grounds in Utah; and he retired from General Motors Delphi North Plant as an electrician in 1999 and was a member of the UAW #696. After retiring, he worked for several years as a volunteer at Kittyhawk Golf Course and Brookville Area Handivan Ministry. He was a huge sports enthusiast, supporting many local sports programs as well as The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Frances Hattie; brothers Bob, Leonard, David, Luther, John and Elmer Gantner. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Saundra Gantner; son Darold (Karin) Gantner; daughter Kari (Charles) Ellis; grandchildren Haleigh Gantner, Hayden Gantner, Nicole (Jordan) Evans, Michael Ellis, Madalynn (Jacob) Hoer and Charles (Tori) Ellis; great grandchildren Hudson Evans, Copeland Evans, Sumner Evans, Daphne Evans, Maeve Hoer and Monroe Hoer; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 14, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 220 Wayne Trace Road, Eaton, OH 45320.
