Betty J. Aten

Betty J. Aten, age 89, of Eaton, OH, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born January 31, 1924 in West Manchester, OH to the late Sylvanis and Mabel (Schilling) Weherley. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post Ladies Auxiliary Unit, Eaton, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George W. Aten, who passed away on January 18, 2009; sister Naomi Dutton; brothers William Billie Joe, Ralph Bud, Kenneth and Dale Weherley; and infant brothers Robert and Donald Weherley. She is survived by her daughter Judith A. Lambert of Eaton, OH; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Steve Caudill of Eaton, OH; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Michelle Aten of Eaton, OH; daughter and son-in-law Patsy and Dennis Sweeney of Eaton, OH; daughter Karen (Paul) Hohne of Arcanum, OH; grandchildren Robbie (Sandy) Gray, Jr., Candace (James) Webb, Steve (Jessie) Washington, Jessica (fiancé Cory) Washington, Heather Lynn (Jeff) Planalp, Amy Mote and Chris (Valerie) Mote; Step grandchildren Corey (Adina) Caudill, Jessica (Ernie) Lamur, Travis and Samantha Sweeney; great grandchildren Morgan, Madelynn and Peyton Planalp, Skyler and Matthew Washington, Joshua Weatherly, Christian Webb, Caitlin Caudill, Grayson Caudill, Brayden Zepeda, Brandon Mote, Bethany Claflin, Amanda Mote, Garrett Mote, Aiden Lamur and Emmitt Lamur; sister Rebecca Stockamp; brother Lloyd Weherley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 10:00 am until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
