Betty Barbara Stewart

Betty Barbara Stewart passed away on November 29, 2024. She was born January 13, 1928 to Anderson and Viola (Whitesell) Setser. Betty graduated from Dixon High School. She married her high school sweetheart, J. Eldon Stewart, on January 10, 1948, at The First Presbyterian Church in Fairhaven, OH. They enjoyed living, working, and raising their son, Ron, on the family farm in Dixon Township.

Throughout the years, Betty served as secretary for Rodeffer Insurance in Camden, Landmark in Eaton, and Preble County Soil and Water Conservation. She played the piano at her church, assisted the Dixon Men’s Club musical organization, was a member of the Dixon-Israel Mothers’ Club, and attended the annual Dixon-Israel Alumni reunion each year. Betty was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. She is a member of the Eaton First Presbyterian Church.

Betty loved her family; and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family was blessed to share Thanksgiving Day with her, again, this year.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldon; son, Ron; brother, Bill Setser; sister, Mary Chapin; nephews, Larry and Scott.

She is survived by her brother, Gordon (Barb) Setser; daughter-in-law, Sue; grandsons, Ryan and John (Jamie); great-grandsons, Cody (Autumn), Sam, and Jack; great-granddaughter, Sydnie; great great granddaughter, Junie; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon at the Gard Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Annie Melick officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton.
