Bob D. Patton

Bob D. Patton, age 87, of New Paris, OH passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Greenbriar Healthcare Center in Eaton.  He was born January 19, 1936 in Louellen, KY to the late Nolan and Cecil (Parker) Patton.  Bob was a member of Go Ministries Church in West Manchester, OH.  He had a great love for Coon Hunting and was treasured by many who looked upon him for his knowledge of the sport; he enjoyed riding his horses on the Brown County, IN trails; was an avid fisherman; and enjoyed playing guitar and singing country music.  He was looked upon with great respect for his knowledge in the plastic industry which was his life's work.  He always put great effort into showing each of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren the individual love he had for each of them.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his “darlin” wife Darla J. Patton of 73 years; and sister Bonnie Coulter.  He is survived by his son Thomas (Debbie) Patton of New Paris, OH; daughter Indy (Kenny) Ponder of New Paris, OH; daughter Amy (Harry) Aldridge of New Paris, OH; grandchildren: Rhonda (Harry Jr.) Aldridge, Chad (Heather) Ponder, Lee (Mandee) Patton, Jeanna (Chad) VanWinkle, Mandy Davies and Ean (Audrey) Bowlin; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister Billie Fisher; sister-in-law Sherry (Billy) Schilling; numerous nieces and nephews; and many coon hunting buddies.  Visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH.  Funeral service for Bob will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 also at Gard Funeral Home.   Burial will follow at Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, OH.  Memorial contributions may be sent to DayCity Hospice.  Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.gardfuneralhome.com.
