Bonita Ann “Bonnie” Good, age 75, of Eaton, OH, passed away on Monday, August 19th, 2024 at Vancrest Nursing Home surrounded by family after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). She was born on June 23rd, 1949 in Lewisburg, OH to the late John and Margaret (Wright) Clay. Margi and Bonnie enjoyed playing cards, painting nails, and talking about life together. Bonnie met the love of her life, Garry, during her freshman year of high school. They parted ways with Garry’s draft and deployment in Vietnam, only to find their way back together upon his return in 1968. At age 20, Bonnie married Garry; they had three children and spent 60 years of life together. She and Garry created a fun and loving childhood for their kids, filled with lots of memories that included several furry family members: Freddy, Brandy, Mert, Winks, and Rory to list a few. Bonnie worked very hard to take care of people; the door was always open to family, neighbors, and friends. She kept people fed, and she will always be remembered for her love of cooking and being in the kitchen. Her famous pies will live on through her children and grandchildren. She loved being “Nana” to her grandkids and watching them grow up. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her. We will always remember and imagine her saying “it is what it is” while drinking her Diet Coke. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Garry; children Shaun Good, Gretchen (Marshall) McCabe, and Todd (Lynne) Good; grandchildren, Abi Good, Lucy McCabe, Grace Good, and Sarah Good; sisters Becky Hayden and Lisa Shores. A two-hour visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24th at Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St, Eaton, OH 45320 beginning at 10:00 am and lasting until the time of the funeral service at noon. Burial will follow immediately after at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens in Brookville, OH. The family would like to thank the staff at Vancrest Nursing for their care of Bonnie through her most challenging times with her disease and end of life. Memorial contributions may be sent to Vitas Hospice; the family would like to give a special thanks to Marty and Emberly at Vitas.
