Carrie Alice Caplinger

CAPLINGER,  Carrie Alice (Bowling), age 79 of Eaton, OH. passed away on Fri. Jan. 4, 2013 at Reid Hospital after a lengthy illness.  She was born in Richmond, KY. on Jan. 30, 1933, the daughter of Tilford and Sallye Bowling.  She was retired after many years of service from Hart Manufacturing & Clifton Shirt Factory in Eaton.  She was a member of the Gratis Church of the Brethren, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school for many years. Carrie was a member and past officer of the Hamilton Ohio Chapter of the Eastern Star.  She was married 55 years to the late Rev. Robert Caplinger, who passed away in May of 2012.  While no children were born of this union, she loved all children and she and Bob became host parents to Lilja Palsdottir of Reykjavik Iceland.  Carrie loved to laugh, dance, cook and travel the United States and Iceland.  Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Tilford M. Bowling and Henry L. Bowling.  She is survived by sisters, Barbara (Wendell) Hodges of Vero Beach, FL. and Sandy (Roger) Bufler, Andrews, TX., sister-in-law, Lynda Bowling, Hamilton, OH. and numerous nieces and nephews and relatives.  Funeral services will be held 2:00PM. Tuesday Jan. 8, 2013 at Gratis Church of the Brethren, State Route 503 and Mack Street in Gratis with Rev.
