Charles A. "Charlie" Kuster

Charles A. Charlie Kuster, 74, of Lewisburg, OH died July, 23, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, OH. He was born on Feb. 12, 1940 in Richmond, IN to Harry and Mary Alice (Allen) Kuster and was raised in the Germantown/Pershing area. He was a 1958 graduate of Lincoln High School. Charles moved to Phillipsburg, OH after his marriage to Jackie Retherford in the early 1960s. He was a fixture on the Phillipsburg Village Council for 16 years. He worked for the Joyce Cridland Co. of Dayton, OH as a mechanical engineer and was awarded a patent for his work there. After leaving Joyce Cridland, Charles was employed by the Templeton Kenley Co. of Broadview, IL for many years as a sales engineer and sales manager. He also worked as a draftsman and truck driver before his retirement. He was active in the Lutheran churches of Pershing, IN, as well as those in Phillipsburg and Eaton, OH. He enjoyed motorcycling, attending car shows, and area auctions. Survivors include his children Gerald Gary E. (Shelley) Kuster of Columbus, OH, Kurt (Rose) Kuster of Cleveland, OH and 1 grandchild, Jack Kuster; sister Carolyn (Robert) Palma of Brownsburg, IN, brothers John (Rose Marie) and James of Centerville and Richmond, IN respectively as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Friends will be received at the Grace Lutheran Church, Eaton, OH on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am with Pastor Warren Reichert officiating. Burial will be at the familys convenience at Salem Baptist Cemetery in Hagerstown, IN. Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.
