Clyde E. Derringer, age 89 of Lewisburg, OH, was welcomed into his heavenly home on Monday, August 2, 2021 at his residence. He was born March 12, 1932 in Montgomery County, OH to the late Clyde Joseph and Emma Mae (Lipscomb) Derringer. On August 25, 1951 Clyde and Shirley Eklof were married and spent many happy years together until her death in 2013. One word that would describe Clyde is faithful. He devoted his life to lovingly care for his wife and two daughters, who were the joy of his life. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Union Local #24, faithfully working many jobs in the Dayton area until retirement. Having accepted the Lord as a young man, he loved to share the good news of Jesus Christ with his fellow workers and as a Church of God pastor for several years. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, daughter Debbie and siblings Raymond, Irene, Richard, and Marjorie. He is survived by his daughter Sherri Lynn Derringer of Lewisburg, OH, brothers Donald Derringer of New Lebanon, OH, Elmer Derringer of FL, nieces Gayle Wilder and Dawn Zachary and nephew Doug Wilder all of TN, and special friends Joanny Hemmelgarn and Steve and Michelle Warren. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers, especially Julie Neaveill, and Grace Hospice who have taken such good care of him. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Rev. Doug Wilder officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Eaton. Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent to the family by visiting www.gsbfuneralhome.com.
