Curtis L. Johnson

Curtis L. Johnson, age 91 of Eaton, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Vancrest Nursing Home in Eaton, OH on February 18, 2024. He was born September 4, 1932 in Alum Cave in Garner, KY son of the late Lee and Tisha (Hall) Johnson. Curtis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He retired as a Pastor from Calvary Baptist Church of West Alexandria, OH, and most recently was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in West Alexandria, OH. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Allyne” (Slone) Johnson; son, Michael E. Johnson; grandson, Micheal E. Johnson Jr.; brothers, Charles and Afton Johnson; and sister, Helen Watts. Curtis is survived by his son, Barry (Mary Lou) Johnson; daughter-in-law, Kay Johnson; grandchildren, Tisha, Jamie Lynn, Latonia, Jamie Marie, and Heather; great grandchildren, Kaya, Silas, Elizabeth, Brooklyn, Emily, Khyler, and Mariah; brother, Edward “Rooney” (Terry) Johnson; sister-in-law, Cathy (Doug) Profitt; brother-in-law, Leon Watts; several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 12pm until time of funeral service at 1pm at Gard Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH 45320. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in West Alexandria, OH.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Curtis’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
