Dale E. Poos

Dale E. Poos, age 89, of Eaton, OH passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, OH. He was born August 4, 1935 in Eaton to the late Raymond and Naomi (Unger) Poos.

Dale was a graduate of Eaton High School, class of 1953. After high school, he served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. He then worked at implement stores, retiring from Twin Valley Equipment after 28 years. Following retirement, he then went to work for his friend, Jim Mitchell, helping him on the farm for a number of years.

Dale is survived by his sister Wilma (husband Bill) Summers of New Haven, CT, brother Lawrence (wife Nellie) Poos of Chevy Chase, MD, and sister Carol Ward of Eaton, OH; step-sisters Melinda Fay of Albuquerque, NM and JoAnn Mackenzie of Surrey, BC; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother Edna Poos; his first wife, Marilyn in 2001 and his second wife, Shirley in 2018.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
