Daniel D. Garrett

Daniel “Dan” D. Garrett , age 79 of West Alexandria, Ohio passed away on September 3, 2023. He was born June 7, 1944 in Hamilton, Ohio son of the late Robert and Mary E. Garrett.  Dan was a loving father, grandpa, companion, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a Navy veteran who proudly served his country. He was a member of the Dayton Fancy Feather Club, an avid reader, and loved animals. Dan will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his wife of 40 plus years, Mary C. Garrett; and sister, Marilyn Feix. He is survived by his daughters, Sarah (Joe) Friedrich and Katie Garrett (Nick Waltzer); grandchildren, Danny and Hannah Friedrich; fiancé, Marilyn Brock; sister, Cheryl Unger; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as several other family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 12:00 pm until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm at Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 67 West Dayton Street, West Alexandria, OH.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in West Alexandria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the donor's choice. The family would like to thank those who came to visit Dan and sent cards.
