Wilburn, Daniel Ray âDarrelâ, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on April 26, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents Catherine and Cleveland; sister Phyllis Courtney; and brother Ronald Wilburn. Darrel was survived by his wife of 40 years, Victoria; and is survived by 3 sons â Michael Schirmer, Darrel E. Wilburn, Mathew R. Wilburn; 4 daughters - Lynn Shindeldecker, Barbara Shindeldecker, Samantha Wilburn, Jessica Wilburn; 7 grandchildren â Maria, Christina, Shawn âGusâ, Ashley, Amber, Anthony, Zane; 1 great granddaughter - Raina; and 3 half-sisters. Darrel was born in Sycamore Township and raised in the Hamilton area. In his younger years he was very athletic and enjoyed playing football, golf, and racing motorcycles. Darrel met the love of his life, Victoria, in 1970 and they began their 40 year marriage in Gratis. During his life, Darrel served in the army, drove a cement truck for Reading Concrete, together with Victoria owned and operated Darrelâs Shoe Repair in Sarasota, Florida, and retired as an independent owner operator truck driver. Darrel was a hard worker, took care of his family, and enjoyed having fun in life. He loved riding motorcycles, fishing, boating, and spending time with his family. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 13th 10am at Fairview Cemetery in Gratis, Ohio.
