Darla J. Patton

Darla J. Patton, age 87, of New Paris, OH passed away Friday, October 20, 2023 at the Greenbriar Healthcare Center in Eaton.  She was born February 13, 1936 in Pike County, OH to the late Albert and Isa (Bayne) Roth.  Darla was a member of First Baptist Church in New Paris.  She had a great love for horses and a tender heart for all   animals.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and friend to many.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Rita Hook and Marla (Hamp) Dunn.  She is survived by her husband of almost 69 years, Bob Patton of Eaton, OH; son Thomas (Debbie) Patton of New Paris, OH; daughter Indy (Kenny) Ponder of New Paris, OH; daughter Amy (Harry) Aldridge of New Paris, OH; grandchildren: Rhonda (Harry Jr.) Aldridge, Chad (Heather) Ponder, Lee (Mandee) Patton, Jeanna (Chad) VanWinkle, Mandy Davies and Ean (Audrey) Bowlin; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister Sherry (Billy) Schilling; sister-in-law Billie Fisher; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend Emma Turpin.  Visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH.  Funeral service for Darla will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 also at Gard Funeral Home.   Burial will follow at Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, OH.  Memorial contributions may be sent to DayCity Hospice at https://daycityhospice.com/donate/ .
