Darrell E. Brubaker

Darrell E. Brubaker, born on January 25, 1957, lived a life marked by hard work, unwavering dedication, an unshakable love for his family and his German Baptist Church community. At 68 years old, he passed away on February 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, generosity, and integrity. Known for his steadfast and selfless nature, Darrell was a rock not only to his family and friends but also to strangers who found comfort in his presence. He believed that no task was ever too big, tackling every challenge with determination and heart. 

As the proud owner of Son Enterprises Inc., he poured his passion into his business, building it with the same grit and perseverance that defined his character. Beyond his professional life, Darrell found solace in farming—a dedication that reflected his love for the land, hard work, and the rewards of patience. Whether in the fields or in the lives of those he touched, his presence was deeply felt and will be profoundly missed. 

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Alice Brubaker. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Phyllis Brubaker, and their four daughters: Sarah (Rusty) Wintrow, Jessica (Paul) Russell, Maggie, and Vanessa. He was also a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Kent (Wanda) Brubaker, as well as his nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish his memory. His legacy of strength, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Upper Twin Old German Baptist Church, 3614 Halderman Rd., West Alexandria, OH 45381. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery in West Alexandria. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 2:00-5:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the church. Gard Funeral Home, West Alexandria, OH is assisting with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of donor's choice.
