Darrell D. Burnside, age 67, of West Manchester, OH, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. He was born November 22, 1948 in Dayton, OH to the late Robert L. and Lucille (House) Burnside. Darrell was a 1966 graduate of Monroe High School; was a U.S. Navy Veteran who served during the Vietnam War; loved Hot Rod Cars and was a member of the Over the Hill Gang; he worked at Geeting Ford Dealership in West Manchester for many years as a mechanic until its closure; he retired from Brookville Roadster as a metal fabricator for the 1932 Department; and his most recent passion was his miniature donkeys, whom he dearly loved caring for. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Norman N. Burnside. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Juanita L. (Farmer) Burnside; daughters and sons-in-law Michelle and Jamie Paul and Crystal and T.J. Lawson both of Eaton, OH; granddaughters Holly, Madison and Miranda Lawson; sisters Barb (Frank) Shively of West Manchester, OH and Debbie (Alan) Hodgkin of Richmond, IN; aunt Betty Burnside of West Alexandria, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating. Burial will be in State Line Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
