David "Dave" W. Gunsalus

David “Dave” W. Gunsalus, age 90 of West Alexandria, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 4, 2023. He was born January 7, 1933 in Economy, Indiana, son of the late Carlos and Katherine Gunsalus. 

Dave was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran, and he was a faithful member of Eaton Community Church. He was known as the “sweet old man who gave a hand carved wooden cross out to anyone he met”. Dave will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters. 

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rose Gunsalus; children, Thomas (Glenda) Gunsalus, Tim (Marianna) Gunsalus, Angela (Steve) Haddix, and Teresa (Bret) French; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 11am to 1pm at Gard Funeral Home (67 West Dayton Street, West Alexandria, Ohio 45381). A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 1pm with Pastor Dan Denlinger officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio.
