David R. Eyler, age 74, of Eaton, OH passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN after a lengthy illness. He was born March 22, 1947 in Richmond, IN to the late Vernon W. and Pauline M. (Valiquette) Eyler. David was a 1965 graduate of Eaton High School; was a U.S. Army Veteran; and was a highway and bridge project inspector for ODOT. He was a member of Visitation Catholic Church; and past member of the Eaton Country Club. He was an avid golfer, Ohio State and Cleveland Browns football fan; made frequent trips to Las Vegas, Belterra and Grand Victoria casinos and to various golf resorts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest brother Tom Eyler; and nephew Jim Eyler. He is survived by his sister Beth (Joe) Pater of Kingston, Ontario, Canada; brother Gene (Connie) Eyler of Eaton, OH; sister Janie (Rich) Adrian of Huntington, NY; sister Kathryn Eyler of Los Angeles, CA; sister-in-law Joy Eyler of Pleasant Hill, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 from 3:30 pm until time of funeral service at 4:30 pm at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Father David Doseck officiating. The family would like to request masks be worn at the funeral home during visitation and service.
