Alma Dennis Williams passed away on November 22, 2017 at Eskaton Village in Grass Valley, California. She was 92.Dennis was born on August 31, 1925 in Montgomery, West Virginia to Denver and Alma Brown. After graduating from high school, she attended Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and graduated with a BA in Vocal Music. At the conservatory, she met James Louis Williams from St. Petersburg, Florida. They were married on December 28, 1949 and moved to West Alexandria, Ohio to begin their teaching careers. Dennis taught elementary music and directed the high school choir in the Twin Valley School System. She also directed the choir at Salem Lutheran Church and developed and directed the bell choir at Salem. Always active in the church, she became a deacon after retiring from directing.Survivors include: her son,Jay Williams of Dalton, Ohio; her daughter Nan Wiik and her husband Dave Wiik of Penn Valley, California; Three granddaughters- Molly Horst and her husband Tom of Columbus, Ohio; Ellyn Shook and her husband Chris of Massillon, Ohio; J.Annie Williams of Dalton, Ohio. Dennis had one great grandson-Harley Jay Shook. A Celebration of Life will be held in West Alexandria, Ohio in May.
