Denzil "Bubby" Bratton

BRATTON, Denzil "Bubby", age 67, of Gratis, OH. passed away Thurs. July 21, 2011 in Hospice of Dayton. He went to sleep peacefully and without pain.  He was born in Gratis on May 19, 1944 to Marcus and Mary (Cummins) Bratton.  He was a graduate of Gratis High School.  He served as a Gratis Township trustee for 38 years.  He was also Mayor of Gratis for 4 years.  He was always on hand to help whoever needed it.  He was a lifelong resident of Gratis and continued to live in his childhood home, adding many improvements.  It is a beautiful welcoming site when you enter into Gratis.  Bubby was employed at Camden Ready Mix for 29 years before retiring.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and a younger brother, Marcus Paul.  Surviving are 3 sisters, Minda Brown, of Gratis, who devoted her time and love taking care of him, Cinda Hamm, of Gratis and Linda Creech,  of Lewisburg and many nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held  10:00 A.M. Thurs. July 28, 2011 at Fairview Cemetery, Gratis, OH.
