Dixie J. Glander, age 73, of West Manchester, OH passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021. She was born January 25, 1947 in Monroe Township Preble County to Helen (Irwin) Oler and the late Leon “Bud” Oler who passed away on November 12, 2020. A 1965 graduate of Monroe High School in Preble County, she worked in the Advertising Department of the Palladium-Item until November 1974. On September 11, 1971, she married her “High School Sweetheart” Eddie Glander and after the birth of their first child she became a stay-at-home wife and mother, working alongside her husband on their family farm. She was one of the first women elected to the National Trail School Board, worked for many years at Brennan’s Foods in Lewisburg, was appointed as a Monroe Township Trustee carrying out her husband’s term after his passing in May 2009, worked on the Preble County Board of Elections for 37 years, was a member of a Euchre Club for 40 years and was a longtime member of the Wares Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband Eddie Glander, father in-law Edgar Glander, and mother in-laws Bernice Glander and Helena Glander. She is survived by her mother Helen (Irwin) Oler, daughter Kimberly Posey and her husband Brian, son Kevin Glander and three beloved grandsons Craig and Blake Posey and Kameron Glander, brother and sister in-laws Kirk and Marla Glander and Scott and Roxann Glander, niece Olivia Glander and four nephews Aaron, Tyler, Kole, and Preston Glander, several cousins and many, many friends. Gone from our sight, but never our memories. Gone from our touch, but never our hearts. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon at Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Terry Campbell officiating.
