Dorothy “Doe” J. Zarley, age 89, of Eaton, OH passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at her home. She was born December 2, 1922 in Dayton, OH to the late Lee M. and Bendetta M. (Schelper) Wallace. Doe was a member of the Eaton Church of the Brethren, Eaton, OH; was a surgical dental nurse; was on the Lakengren Board of Trustees for 12 years; was a former member of the Garden Club, Ladies Auxiliary & Marine Committee of Lakengren; was a columnist for Register Herald; was Past President of the Dayton Dental Assistance Society; was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars, #358 Acacia Chapter Dayton, OH; formerly owned Village Laundromat, Eaton, OH; formerly owned Doe’s Flower Shop in Dayton, OH; was Past Mother Advisor of Rainbow Girls Fidelity Chapter; and was an award winning fisherman. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard R. Zarley, who passed away February 16, 1988. She is survived by her daughter Judy Lynn (Bruce) Wood of Dayton, OH; Grandsons Glenn (Chris) Wood of Kettering, OH, Jeffery (Angie) Wood of Vandalia, OH and Fredrick (Jennifer) Wood of Northridge, OH; great grandchildren Aaron, Kristen, Nate, Fred, Brandon, Katie, Kayla; and great great grandson Ayden. Friends will be received from 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Burial will be in Dayton Memorial Park, Dayton, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Church of the Brethren, 813 Camden Road, Eaton, OH 45320.
