Duane Curtis Smith

Duane Curtis Smith, age 82, of Lewisburg, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022 at his home.  He was born February 5, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Myrl and Cecil Smith.  Duane was a 1958 graduate of Monroe High School; he attended Miami-Jacobs Business College and received his Accounting Degree in 1960; was a member of the Ohio National Guard from 1962-1968; member of Wares Chapel United Methodist Church; and was a longtime Preble County farmer, retiring in 2006.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Troy Duane Smith; and brother Ronald Smith.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda A. Smith of Lewisburg; son Trad (fiance Sheila) Smith of West Alexandria; daughter Tracie (Tim) Marshall of Lewisburg; grandchildren: Darius Marshall, Jacqueline (Jacob) Schlater, Monika Smith, Brooklyn Smith, Caleb Smith and Colin Smith; and great grandchildren Presley and Kinsley Schlater; sister-in-law Linda J. Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street Eaton OH. Burial will be at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
