Edna I. McDowell

Edna I. McDowell, age 93, of Eaton, OH, passed away on Saturday, February 01, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born April 27, 1920 in Huntington, WV to the late George W. and Virginia Shope. She was a member of the Eaton First Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hearl McDowell; daughter Joyce A. Robbins Mathews; grandson Jack Rob Robbins; son-in-laws Jack Robbins, George Sokol and Daniel B. Perry; sisters Louise Prince and Dora Alexander; and brothers George Freeman Shope, Jim Shope and Howard Shope. She is survived by her daughters Yvonne Sokol of Eaton, OH and Patricia Perry of Corinth, TX; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother Fred Shope of Chesapeake, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 5:00 pm until time of funeral services at 7:00 pm at Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton, OH. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
