THOMAS, Esther M., age 91 of West Alexandria, OH. died Fri. March 9, 2012 at Heartland of Eaton. She was born in Middletown, OH. on Sept. 10, 1920 to Riley and Helen (Weisel) Marcum. She was a graduate of Middletown High School. Esther had worked for Ohio Bell Company as an telephone operator for 35 years. She was involved in the Girl Scout Organization for over 50 years, first as a leader in Preble County and then also on the Board of Treaty Line Council in Richmond, IN. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Thomas and 2 brothers, Bobbie Marcum and Claude Marcum Jr.. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Sat. Mar. 17, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Church, Ingomar, OH. with Rev. Laura Cavandish officiating. Burial will be in Twin Valley Cemetery on Enterprise Rd.
