Everett W. Mathews

Everett W. Mathews, age 87 of Brookville, Ohio formerly of Eaton, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, November 11, 2023. He was born on June 1,1936 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Orbra and Lydia Mathews. Everett was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He worked at McCall printing company for 27 years and he retired from Henny Penny after 18 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he knew no stranger and enjoyed meeting new people. He was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. Everett will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Everett was preceded in death by his former wife, Donna Mathews; late wife, Joyce Mathews; grandson, Justin Brown; triplet granddaughters, Ashley, Brandi, and Christin; sister, Jean Shepherd; and brother, Bruce Mathews. He is survived by his children, Vanessa (Rick) Brown, Ed (Tina) Mathews, Greg (Joni) Mathews, Robin Shafer and Steve (Denise) Mathews; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; twin sister, Evelyn Fugate; as well as numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 11am until the time of memorial service at 12pm at the Gard Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, Ohio 45320 with Pastor Ben Myers officiating.
