George Bufford Barker

George Bufford Barker, age 85, of Eaton, OH, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 at Reid Hospital, Richmond, IN. He was born May 18, 1928 in Eaton to the late William E. and Gladys D. (Taylor) Barker. He was 1946 graduate of Eaton High School; was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War; was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Eaton, OH; and he loved all animals. He retired in 1991 from the Ohio Department of Transportation after 25 years of employment. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant son; brothers James, Clifford and Paul; and infant brother Noble Joseph. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris A. (Pughe) Barker of Eaton; sister Vivian Barker of Eaton; nieces Phyllis (David) Caplinger of Eaton and Teresa Grubman of San Antonio, TX; nephews Robert (Donna) Barker of Hamilton and Darrell (Rita) Barker of Beavercreek; sisters-in-law Jean Hellmund of Kettering and Joanne Barker of San Antonio, TX; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, 123 West Decatur Street, Eaton, OH 45320 with Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria, OH. Friends will be received on Monday, September 9th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH.
