Glenda Mae Newman, age 82, of Eaton, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Vancrest of Eaton Healthcare Center. She was born September 4, 1942 in Virginia to the late Alfred and Polly (Shepherd) Lewis. She worked at Frisch’s Restaurant in Eaton for over 20 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Newman; brothers and sisters: Hirschel Lewis, Wilma Edgar, A.D. Lewis, Buford Lewis, Myrelin Lewis, Rebecca Lewis, Joyce Hand, Darold Lewis, Buddy Lewis and Kay Allred. She is survived by her sons John Newman of Eaton and Herb Newman of Lexington, KY; daughter Jackie Ulmer of Alabama; grandchildren Kyle Newman, Jacob Newman, Jimmy Newman, Shawn Ulmer and Jessica Tanner; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Burial will be at Beechwood Cemetery in Morning Sun, OH on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 11:00 am. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.gardfuneralhome.com.
