Harold S. Groves

Harold S. Groves, age 78, of Eaton, OH passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Vancrest of Eaton Health Care Center. He was born June 17, 1941 in Camden, OH to the late Harold and Irma (Steele) Groves. Harold was raised on a farm in Preble County and was a 1959 graduate of Jackson High School; he retired in 2007 from Inland Container in Middletown; was an avid woodworker, enjoyed traveling, going to auctions and his beloved dog “Tinker”. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Mary and Joseph Cox; and nephew Michael Cox. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy Groves of Eaton; daughter Deniece (David) Harris of Eldorado; son Don (Joan) Groves of Indianapolis; grandchildren: Greg (Randy) Harris of Hawaii, Doug (Erin) Harris of Eldorado, Andrea (T.J.) Groves of Indianapolis, Tony (Kassie) Groves of Indianapolis, and Cpl. Dylan Groves of California; and step grandsons: Travis Delk of Indianapolis and Jacob (Brad) Delk of Evansville, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm and one hour prior to services on Monday all at the funeral home.
