Estel Irene Miller of Preble County, Ohio, and recently a resident of Arbor Trace Nursing Home in Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, June 14th. Born February 24, 1920, she was the daughter of Susie McClain Ketron and Milburn McClain of Preble County, and the step daughter of Merval Ketron of New Paris. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Miller, in 2005. Also preceding her in death were her siblings: Fred McClain, Dorothy Ryan and Donnie Ketron. Irene Miller retired after 25 years with General Telephone in Richmond, Indiana. She also worked at the old Decca plant in Richmond. In her retirement she enjoyed being a housewife, mother and grandmother. Her great joy was children and she lived to see six great grandchildren whom she showered with joy and love. She spent many hours tending flowers and gardens. Until her residency at the nursing home she had lived in New Paris and then Eaton. She will be remembered by her daughters and sons in law: Shirley and Philip Dubbs of New Madison, Carolyn and Jerry Wikle of Liberty Township in Butler County, and LaDonna and Herman Michael of Lewisburg. Her grandchildren include Patrick (Amber) Dubbs, Jennifer (Rob) Overberg, Allison Dubbs, Kim (Jeff) Baker, Christopher Wikle and Michelle (Mike) Main. Her great grandchildren are Whitney and Kourtni Dubbs, Emma and Madelyn Main and Katelyn and Dylan Overberg. She is also survived by a sister, Lorraine (Bob) Fawcett of Richmond, Indiana; a brother-in-law, Gerald (Arline) Miller of Eaton, a sister-in-law, Janelle (Bob) Miller of Washington Court House and many nieces and nephews. A service celebrating her 93 years will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19th at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home at 226 West Main Street in Eaton, OH with Rev. Carol Duffield offering the message of celebration. Those wanting to visit with the family are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Eaton, OH.
