Jack "Hippie Jack" O'Boyle

Jack “Hippie Jack” O’Boyle, age 76, of Eaton, OH passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at his residence.  He was born August 21, 1947 in Dayton, OH to the late Donald Patrick and Erma Faye O’Boyle.  Jack was a 1965 graduate of Miamisburg High School; was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider; and he retired as a Signal Electrician in 2004 from the State of Ohio.  He enjoyed playing in various bands throughout his life as the Bass Player, including the Shandell’s Band with his brother, the Danny Jace Band with his lifelong friend Steve Johnson and the French Lizards with “brother” Paul.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Danny O’Boyle.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ellen O’Boyle of Eaton; son Patrick (Kelly) O’Boyle of Miamisburg; grandchildren Jacob (Julia) O’Boyle of Cincinnati and Emma O’Boyle of Lebanon; sister-in-law Emily Turner; several nieces and nephews; “Irish Brother” Pete McGuire; lifelong friend Sam Eckhart of Cortez, CO; along with many other special friends.  A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday, September 29, 2023 at the Deer Run Lodge, 10489 Dayton Cincinnati Pike, Miamisburg, OH 45342.  Gard Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Eaton is assisting with arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420.  Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.gardfuneralhome.com
