James R. Berry

James R. Berry Sr., age 72, of Eaton, OH passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at his residence. He was born on November 08, 1944 in Westbourne, TN to the late Cledith J. and Mary E. Berry. Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran; member of the American Legion #377, Camden; Charter Member of the Eagles Lodge #4289, Gratis; and he retired as a machinist from General Motors in 1998 after 32 years of employment. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sons Shane and James, Jr.; and brother Cledith, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Diane Berry; son Colby (Teresa) Berry; son Jody (Cyndi) Berry; daughter Holli (Darren) O’Banion; son Austin Berry; daughter Ashley Johnson; son Kyle Johnson; 28 grandchildren and great grandchildren; beloved canine companion “Bobby Berry”; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 11:00 am until time of funeral services at 1:00 pm at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gratis, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
