James Edward Ed Lynch, age 89, of Eaton, OH, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton. Born February 26, 1925 in Ravenna, KY to the late Sherman and Rosa (Barker) Lynch. Ed was a U.S Army Veteran, who served during WWII; a longtime Preble County farmer; a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church; a member of the Preble County Election Board for many years, where he served as a Presiding Precinct Judge; supervisor of the Government Grain Site in Eaton for several years; seed dealer for Greenland Seeds Company; worked at N.C.R. in Dayton for five years before he started farming; and a surveyor for the local farm service committee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn Esther Lynch and his second wife A. Pauline Lynch, who passed away on September 11, 2012; sisters Mayfra Smith and Thelma White; and brother William Hargis Pat Lynch. He is survived by his sister Gladys Wohlford of Eaton, OH; daughter Carolyn (Jim) Jordan of Richmond, IN; daughter Jennifer (Jeff) Kissick of Crittenden, KY; son Richard (Peggy J.) Lynch of Eaton; daughter Peggy A. (fiancé Rick McManis) Druley of Adel, IA; grandchildren James (Sherry) Jordan, Robert Jordan, Rebecca (Dave) Hake, Megan (Will) Bollinger, David (Karen) Lynch, Ronald (April Pope) Lynch, Beth (Todd) Crawford and Jillian (fiancé Jacob Chew) Druley; great grandchildren Anthony Jordan, Madelynn Hake, Serendipity Lynch, Adam Lynch, Benjamin Hake and one expected great grandchild; step great grandchildren Allison deSousa and Colin deSousa; special friends Gail Taylor and Mindy Allen both of Eaton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Brady Feltz officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton, OH. Friends will be received on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and one hour prior to services on Saturday all at the funeral home.
