James A. Parker

James A. Parker, age 79, of Eaton, OH passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Reid Hospital, Richmond, IN. He was born September 19, 1933 in Paris, KY to the late Arthur and Laura Jane (Patrick) Birchfield. James was a U.S. Army Veteran; he retired after 42 years of employment from A.K. Steel in Middletown; and was a member of the Community Christian Church in West Alexandria, OH, where he also served as a deacon. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lutresia (Vickers) Parker of Eaton, OH; daughters Gina (husband John) Bowers of Hamilton, OH, Gianna (William) Peting of Eaton, OH and Rene Townsend of Eaton, OH; grandchildren Buffy Allison, Carrie Duncan, Martin Myers, Amy Townsend, Raymond Townsend, Robin Eck and Lori Page; numerous great grandchildren; brother Charles Birchfield of Peru, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 10:00 am until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Doug Bottles officiating.
