James A. Turpin, Sr., age 85, of Eaton, OH passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Dayton VA Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was born October 27, 1927 in Richmond, KY to the late George Dudley and Margaret (Hale) Turpin, Sr. He was a 1945 graduate of Eaton High School; was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during WWII; was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.; and was a longtime Preble County farmer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son James Jamie A. Turpin, Jr.; infant grandson James Jay A. Turpin, III; and brothers Millard Turpin and George Dudley Turpin, Jr. He is survived by his daughter Jacqueline A. Turpin of Eaton; granddaughters Marie Turpin and Mollie Turpin both of Eaton; grandsons Andrew Turpin and Daniel Turpin both of Eaton; and several nieces and nephews, including Dudley Turpin of Gravette, AR and Laura Zapatka of Carol Stream, IL. Family and friends are asked to join in celebrating his life on Sunday, September 29th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Fort St. Clair Park, Eaton, OH. Interment will be in Richmond, KY.
