Janet K. Davis-Spaeth, age 89, of Eaton, OH passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at her residence. She was born October 29, 1935 in Dayton, OH to the late Arthur and Erna (Preibisch) Dalhamer. Janet was a City Council Member and former Vice-Mayor of Trotwood, OH for many years, where she was instrumental in moving the Trotwood Train Depot to its present location and with the development of the bike trail between Trotwood and Brookville. She was a member of the Red Hats Society; was an avid steam train enthusiast; was the co-editor of the Lakengren Viking with her husband Jerry; and was an active member of the historical societies in both Trotwood and Preble County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Roberta Dalhamer; and son-in-law Bruce Dawson. She is survived by her husband Gerald “Jerry” Spaeth of Eaton; daughters Mindy Davis (Ron Simpkins) of West Milton and Terri Dawson of Lewisburg; stepsons Sean (Promise) Spaeth of Eaton and Scott (Kara) Spaeth of Beavercreek; stepdaughters Nicole (Craig) Arnett of Atlanta and Penny (Matt) Carmany of Lebanon; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and her beloved cat “Taffy”. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH.
