Janet G. (Pruitt) Walton, age 83, of Eaton, OH passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Vancrest of Eaton Health Care Center. She was born on November 8, 1940 in Ironton, Missouri to the late Charles and Francis Pruitt. She worked many years at the Register Herald and was Executive Secretary for the Preble County Board of DD which she retired from. She was very proud of her flower gardens and landscaping. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano. She was an accomplished tennis and golf player and was the 1977 Eaton Country Club Women's Golf Champion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Thomas Pruitt, Ellen (Lyle) Adams, Bud (RaeJean) Pruitt and Richard (Beverly) Pruitt; daughter Sissy Walton Rasmussen; and daughter-in-law Sheila Walton. She is survived by her sister Sharon (Kenny) Welker; sons Rob (Denise) Walton and David Walton; son-in-law Kevin Rasmussen; grandchildren Tyler (Kristin) Walton and Claire Rasmussen; great grandchild Emma Walton; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am at the Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. Memorial contributions may be sent to Preble County Council on Aging, 800 St. Clair Street, Eaton, OH 45320.
