Jewell R. Henne

Jewell Rose Henne (Cole) passed away on January 5, 2015. The daughter of Ned and Mima Cole, Jewell was born on May 4, 1923 in Jackson, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Henne (1996), five sisters, four brothers, and a grandson, Wesley Melling (1992). She is survived by her son, Robert (Elke) Melling of Greenville and daughters, Sherry Wells of Eaton and Brenda Estes of West Alexandria. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren: Brigitte (Todd) Bussen, Aaron (Gina) Melling, Dexter (Christal) Melling, Misty Sizemore, Melodie (Jim) Yarrow, Curt (Terri) Locker, Mimi Weekly, Jodie (Jeanne) Estes, Jewell (Bob) Good, Jay (Barbara) Estes, and Jeff Estes. Jewell gifted this world with twenty-seven great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a special nephew, Butch (Kathy) Smith; with her boundless love she added Regina Wintermute, like a grand-daughter to Jewell and sister to the Estes Family; and friends, Charlie Hoover and Martin Vanzant. Jewell worked many years at Hines Truck Stop and retired in 1986 from Country Folks Restaurant. Her family especially thanks the staff at Genesis New Lebanon Care for their excellent care. She loved you all. Whether we knew her as Mom, Mamaw, Nana, or Jewell her laughter, spirit, determination, and love will remain with us always. "Her death leaves us with a heartache no one can heal, her love leaves us with a memory no one can steal." Though she will be deeply missed, she will forever be present in our hearts. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 11:30 am until time of funeral services at 1:30 pm at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton, OH.
