DAVIS, John “Jerry”, passed away April 13, 2017 at the age of 86 years in Celina, OH where he had lived since April of 2009. Born March 8, 1931 in Chauncey, OH. He graduated in 1950 from Toledo Scott High School, entered the Army in 1951, served 10 months in Korea with the 45th Infantry Division, attended OSU in the Arts & Sciences College, later graduating from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor’s Degree in education. He was active in The Ohio State Alumni Association, was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents Damon and Grace Davis; wife Pat Davis, who passed away in 1998; and his faithful canine companions Fritzie of 16 years and Susie. Jerry is survived by his faithful canine companion Brutus. He will be remembered as a “caring” teacher by his past students from Whitmer H.S., Rogers H.S. and at Northwest State Community College in Archbold, OH where he taught chemistry, after retiring from the Toledo Public Schools in 1993. He was also a Broker in Real Estate for 25 years. He did many things, worked a variety of jobs including two years at the Home Depot in Rossford, OH. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Fort Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg, OH where he will be interred beside his beloved wife of 24 years.
