John F Melling, Jr., age 71, of Eaton, OH, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born June 23, 1948 in Eaton, OH. He worked as a truck driver for Westvaco for 30 years, Zumstein Trucking for 14 years and Remagen for 6 years. He is survived by his wife, Paula Melling; son Scott Melling; son Kurt (Kelly) Melling; daughter Jenna Melling; daughter Nicole Sarver Woolwine; daughter in spirit Amy Lowman-Rike; grandchildren Kyle and Melissa Melling, Trisa (Zach Oliver) Deaton, Justin Foust, Casey (Matthew McKee) and Hailey Stigleman, Ann Marie and Joshua Bierly and Catherine Melling; great grandchildren Ariella Deaton, Adalynn “Addy” Deaton, Valor Deaton, Elliott McKee and Kyson McKee; brother Wayne (Marilyn) Melling; sister-in-law Betsy (Bob) Czupryna; brother-in-law Charles “Chuck” Straw; canine friend Samantha; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton, OH.
