John E. Stevens

John E. Stevens, age 74, of New Paris, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the V.A. Medical Center Hospice Unit in Dayton. He was born February 19, 1940 to the late Charles Edward and Anna Lavina (Hagans) Stevens. John was a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from the Inland Division of General Motors in Dayton after 26 years of employment; and was a part-time Preble County farmer for over 40 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Charlene Haeseker. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Michael) Sinks of West Manchester; son John L. (Kiki) Stevens of Eldorado; grandsons Caleb and Joshua Sinks of West Manchester; and sister Jeri (Harold) England of Georgia. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Eaton Church of the Brethren, 813 Camden Road, Eaton, OH. A gathering will immediately follow services also at the church from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton is assisting the family with arrangements.
