John W. “Jay” Campbell, age 73, of Camden, OH passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Dayton VA Medical Center. He was born June 4, 1947 in Dayton to the late Nick and Vina (Combs) Campbell. Jay was a 1965 graduate of Miamisburg High School; was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War; was a member of the American Legion Post # 215 Eaton, OH; was a member of the NRA; and was a CNC Operator at Monarch Marking for 35 years and later retired from Silfex Company in Eaton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by sisters Kathleen Bolen, Imogene Campbell, Mildred Buchanan, Rheba Johnson, Christine Campbell, Jewel Campbell, Irene Campbell and infant twin sisters Stella Mae and Ella Mae Campbell. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen Sue Campbell of Camden; daughter Angela Hoff of Camden; grandchildren: A’Lisha Hoff, D’Layne Hoff and Gabriel Hoff; great grandchildren: Austyn Hoff, Melania Brashear and Lucas Brashear; sister Georgia Williams of Melbourne, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 19, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 723 Upper Miamisburg Rd, Miamisburg, OH 45342 with Pastor Larry Davidson officiating.
