Karen L. Jefferson

Karen L. Jefferson, passed away peacefully Wednesday December 26, 2012 at her home following an extended illness. Karen was born April 16, 1948 the daughter of Fredric Jefferson and Thelma (Silvers) Rautsaw. She was a graduate of Eaton High School and retired from Eaton Community Schools after 29 years during which time she was employed as a bus driver and the transportation supervisor. Karen is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her step-father Ned Rautsaw of Eaton; two daughters, Stephanie (Hickman) and Eric Hisey and Jeanne (Hickman) and Steve French both of Eaton; one son, MSgt Troy and Maylen Hickman of Murrieta, California; 8 grandchildren: Joshua and Christopher Hisey, David William and Zachary Henry, Troy and Alec Hickman and Matthew and Megan Barker; 3 brothers: Fred Jefferson, Jon Jefferson and Matt Jefferson; 5 sisters: Stacey Jefferson, Patricia Jefferson Fiore, Erin Jefferson Fiore, Sherry Rautsaw Phillips and Sandra Rautsaw Reed; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Vrindavanam, Marty Selby, Cheryl Miller, VITAS Hospice and Patricia Hickman. Friends will be received on Monday, December 31, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral services at 4:00 p.m. at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to VITAS Hospice and The American Cancer Society.
