Katherine F. (Izor) Tyler, age 102 of Eaton, Ohio passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. She was born January 26, 1920 in Preble County, Ohio daughter of the late Lee and Zelma (Icenhower) Izor.
Katherine was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. After graduation from Eaton High School in 1938 she was a secretary in Urbana, Ohio. She married the love of her life, Vernon Tyler and became a devoted, loving, faithful, farmer’s wife. Katherine was a member of the Campbellstown UCC where over the years she taught Sunday School, was a member of the Choir, and did Puppet Ministry. She served on the Jackson Township Library Board and was active in Community Service. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and playing cards. Katherine will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Tyler; brother, Paul Izor; and sister, Evelyn Izor.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Diane) Tyler of Cincinnati, Ohio, Karen (David) Tharp of Jenera, Ohio, Tim (Kathy) Tyler of Goshen, Ohio, and Kandra (Fred) Meyers of Blacksburg, Virginia; 2 grandchildren, 2 step- grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; cousin, Marilyn Sliver; nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 10a-11a at Campbellstown United Church of Christ (2890 West Florence Campbellstown Road, Eaton, Ohio 45320). Funeral service will begin at 11am. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions can be made in Katherine’s honor to Campbellstown United Church of Christ and/or Everheart Hospice.
