Laren E. "Sonny" Lakes

Laren E. “Sonny” Lakes, age 80, of Lewisburg, OH passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023 .  He was born March 29, 1943 in Germantown, OH to the late Paul and Idella Lakes.  Sonny retired from General Motors in Dayton after 33 years of Employment.  He was an avid fisherman.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and five sisters.  Survived by his wife of 58 years, Lorena Lakes; daughters Quimby Williams and Bonnie Hall; grandsons Timothy Williams and Christopher Williams; great grandson Wyatt Williams; sisters Luanna Gaye Lakes and Mary Jan Lakes; and several nieces and nephews.  Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Eaton, OH is assisting with arrangements.  At Sonny’s request, no services.  The family would like to express a special thank you to Tracy and Scott Blankenship, Ashley Williams, and Jevon and Missy Laux.  Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent to the family by visiting www.gardfuneralhome.com.
