Linda K. Appledorn

Linda K. Appledorn, age 69, of Eaton, Ohio died May 2, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital with family present.  Ms. Appledorn was born June 18, 1952 in Wheeling, WV to Raymond and Margaret Decker. She attended Cadiz High School (now Harrison Central) and graduated in 1970. Upon graduation she went on to attend Ohio School of Cosmetology in Columbus. Most of her working life was spent in medical records. Her hobbies included reading, crossword, word searches and sewing. She was actively involved with Boy Scout Troop 78, Preble District (Wayne Trace) and Miami Valley Council as a troop and district advancement chairman. She has helped over 100 boys receive their Eagle Scout award. She has won numerous awards in Scouting, some include the Cornerstone, Preble Trail, District Award of Merit, and the Silver Beaver Award. She was a member of Visitation Catholic Church and St Ann's Sodality for many years. She was also a CCD teacher for over 10 years.  She enjoyed watching and being with her 3 grandkids in all their activities. She is survived by her two sons Tim and Todd (Crystal) Appledorn both of Eaton, brother Bill (Debbie) Decker of Hopedale, OH, sisters Molly Monroe and Doris Campanelli both of Cadiz, Ohio. She is also survived by her two grandsons Taylor and Joel and one granddaughter, Adriana and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Margaret as well as her husband of 39 years Mike. She was also preceded in death by an older brother, Roy Decker. She was a caring and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many. She will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 W. Main St., Eaton, Ohio (Due to construction, please use the Park Avenue or West side entrance).  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 10:00 am at Visitation Catholic Church, 407 E. Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Father David Doseck officiating.  Burial will follow at Preble Memory Gardens in West Alexandria, Ohio following the mass.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Boy Scout Troop 78, 105 Stoney Brook Drive, Eaton, OH 45320.  Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent to the family by visiting www.gardfuneralhome.com.
