Logun David Maish passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2023 following complications with asthma. He had just turned 17 years old.
Logun was born October 23, 2006 to his parents Monte and Kim Maish. A student of Eaton Community Schools, he started his sophomore year of high school as a homeschool student at TRECA. Family and friends meant the world to Logun. He often spoke of heirlooms and maintaining heritage through future generations. A deep respect for his Vietnam War veteran grandfather motivated his career plan to join the armed forces. Not old enough to enlist, Logun enjoyed military themed activities: gaming with friends online, extreme airsoft battles with cousins, and shooting with Papaw.
Logun’s curiosity was matched only by his courteous, outgoing nature. Genuinely friendly to every person he came across, Logun didn’t know a stranger and picked up insight from everyone. A member of 4-H, this chicken whisperer could be found caring for animals at home or showing award winning rabbits at the fairgrounds. He was inseparable from his little sister Josie, much to her playful chagrin, and helped care for her after their mother’s untimely passing. He followed his father’s passion for derby, built on that legacy with his own brand of “lil monster, 45” and was preparing for his first derby run.
A caring, considerate friend to many, Logun’s gone home to his momma Kimberly (Myers) Maish and to the open arms of grandmother Bonnie (Marker) Myers, great-grandmother Mary Ellen (Harris) Marker, aunt Martell (Maish) Walls, uncle Michael J. Maish, grandfather David Maish, and grandmother Vicki (Davis) Maish. All of whom he’s been missing.
Logun’s gifts and presence will be missed by his father Monte Maish, sisters Kayla Maish and Josie Maish, grandfather Anthony Myers and grandmother Valerie (Tuggle) Myers, uncle Brian Myers and his partner Tina (Krahl) Clarke, great-grandmother Myrna (Landis) Myers, and so many more friends and family that loved this young man.
Logun David Maish. We love you, bub.
