Lucile G. Hurd

Lucile G. Hurd, age 85, of Eaton, OH and formerly of Kettering, OH, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Vancrest Health Care Center, Eaton, OH. She was born June 4, 1926 in Dayton, OH to the late Robert and Leena Gavin. Lucile resided in Kettering for 56 years, living the last several years in Eaton to be closer to her son. She retired in 1992 from Hill’s Department Store located in Kettering; and was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, Kettering, OH. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her Husband Earl C. Hurd, who passed away in 1992; brother Paul Gavin; infant brother Bobby Gavin; sisters Mary Reid and Katherine Hurd; brother-in-law Heil Hurd; and nephew Robert Hurd. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Teri Hurd of Camden, OH; granddaughters Meghan (Jason) Westover of Miamisburg, OH and Michelle (Dave) Carter of Moraine, OH; great grandchildren Ethan, Payton, Kinsley and Maddilyn; niece Sharon Bluher of Centerville, OH; and nephews Mike and Bill Hurd both of Centerville, OH. A memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 1625 Calvary Avenue (off South Patterson Blvd.), Kettering, OH 45439.
