Martha J. Gabbard

Martha J. Gabbard, age 84 of Eaton, OH passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born May 19, 1939 in Middletown, OH to the late Cleveland and Elizabeth (Hopkins) Wilmot.  Martha was a member of the Church of Christ in Eaton, OH; she retired as a school bus driver from Eaton Community Schools; and enjoyed antiques and going to flea markets.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan E.  “Eck” Gabbard; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.  She is survived by her son Jeff A. (Lisa) Gabbard of Camden; daughter Julie Kuhn (Jerry Hurst) of Eaton; son Jody Gabbard of Eaton; daughter Joni (Steve) Clawson of South Solon, OH; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother Frank Wilmot of Eaton; and several nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 1:00 pm until time of funeral service at 3:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH with Paul Nichols officiating.  A graveside committal service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery in Gratis, OH.  Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent to the family by visiting www.gardfuneralhome.com
